As a study into kinetic typography, I made this little lyric video for a chunk of Troye Sivan’s song YOUTH (it was all the rage when I made this, okay?).
This was my first dive into Adobe After Effects, and after many hours of exploring different functions and my laptop whirring from the technical strain, I got to this point.
It was tough but I’ve come so far with After Effects since then — I like to visualize different interactions with expert developers to show how things should work, and it’ll take just a few minutes for me to throw together.
I’ve got a few other kinetic typography ideas lined up in my head to work on in my own time, and hopefully they’ll be better than this first go-around.
